Dropped domains with PR! i wonder why every 2nd directory announced on DP is now a dropped domain

Zebno: Please elaborate a bit more on these dropped domains that have page rank. I often come across what seem to be decent directories and then see someone saying they're dropped. This makes me hesitant to submit my URL's. Will it hurt my submission in the long run? I mean, submitting to a dropped domain will eventually harm my web site's validity or visibility? Or it's current page rank you mean?
I always wondered about this.

Thanks for any insights and above and beynd that, how can you be certain a domain is a drpped domain? How do you know this? That way, I can test other directories I discover, on my own. Your insights are appreciated.

 

The problem is that you are advertising a PR3 domain and it's not. It was. But that's someone else's PR, not your PR that *you* built. It will be PR0 as soon as Google gets around to figuring out that ownership and site content has changed.

People here expect honesty. If it's a dropped domain that you just bought, say so and no one here will hassle you. Hide it and you'll be exposed in a heartbeat. The same goes for directories with "no follow" links. If a directory owner advertises here and doesn't come clean, someone here will expose the truth. Oh yeah, same thing for people who advertise "free" and then require a recip and argue "well that's free". That's dishonest and someone here will expose them.
