I have two e-commerce websites both attract a large number of visitors. One gets approximately 1 order per 138 page loads and the other get 1 order per 256 page loads. So the conversion rate is almost 1/2 on one site compared to the other. This is a disaster for one of the sites as the costs per-order are huge compared to the other. Here are the two sites and I would like any suggestions as to why this should be the case. I am keen to improve the conversion rate on the poorly performing site. Well, from what I can see right off the bat, www.cp-lighting.co.uk needs some SEO work. You need to include meta keywords, meta description, and also have a more appealing title for the products that you offer. Just my 2cents.
I am aware of the shortcomings of the software as regards SEO. That is not my problem, the problem is the conversion rate of one site is 1/2 that of the other.
lampspecs.co.uk - Site appears to offer much more info regarding the products. - The overall look (theme) seems more professional cp-lighting.co.uk - Less product info regarding the products, If your customers don't know exactly what they need, they are less likely to buy from this site. Recommend adding more general info for products. BOTH site: Both sites could use a new look. I would recommend getting a new layout made for both of them as the current themes look cheap and unprofessional.
