Two domains...

So, I'm making a site about a footballer. The name has 1.2 million results on google, even when quoted. This is a good buy, imo.

I'm stuck between two domains. Let's say, for example, this player is david beckham. I could register davidbeckham.net or david-beckham.com .

Which one should I go for, in value and SEO?

I think you should register both of them. .com domain mentioned in your post will give you seo ranking and value as well.

I also agree to register both but my first choice would be david-beckham.com

My first choice would be .net. I don't like dashes.

From SEO, david-beckham.com is a bit better, for resale davidbeckham.net is better. Why not get both & redirect the .net to the hyphenated .com?

I agree with zacdavis I'd go with the .net I don't like the hyphens. I have one domain with it and I don't think I'd do it again.
