Two domains for 1 site - Is it legal?

    Hi there,

I've searched and read but still not sure.

I have 1 website, that mean 1 content. The domain for this website is mobilephone.com

Now I realize that people prefer to use the keyword "cellphone" rather than "mobilephone", so I bought another domain, called cellphone.com

Now I want to point (actually parked) the cellphone.com to mobilephone.com and still keep both of the domains. It is not a redirection.

I mean by this way, I will hae double url. for example 1 article will now have two url to access:

    http://mobilephone.com/htc-tourch.html
    http://cellphone.com/htc-tourch.html

My question is that: IS IT VIOLATE GOOGLE ADSENSE TOS?

    Thanks!!!

It is not "illegal" but keep in mind that Google dislikes duplicate content.

Why don't you put a redirect from your 'mobile' website to your 'cellphone' website?

So I'm guessing you want to keep the sites seperate in order to grow the traffic seperately? If so, try and make your content a little different from the other because as mentioned above, Google does not like duplicate content.

Actually, you can't.... Google is not dumb either, what it will do is list one of your sites as "duplicate content" (probably the new site), which means that it will get a Google penalty while being displayed in search results, and will either disappear from search results or get pushed to the last page of thereof.

The ONLY way to use two domains is by having UNIQUE content on each.

There's no penalty for duplicate content (at least in normal circumstances).

What happens is that the keyword mojo is split between the two duplicate pages. Effectively, they are fighting each other for rank. Meanwhile while some other webmaster who has just one page, will be fighting you but not fighting against himself, and so will score higher.

Based on personal experience I 100% disagree. Tried running two wordpress blogs with the same db, as a result the blog that I opened later doesnt appear in normal results (only appears when I click on "show duplicate content". Meanwhile the original blog is #1 for article names.

How is that a penalty? In that case the rank was all assigned to one of the sites. They split it 100-0.
