Just manage to get lots of followers and then whatever you post you will get lots of exposure for it. If you post a link of your website you will get many hits very fast.
And if you are using wordpress, there's a plugin that will automatically make your every post a twit. Twitter does bring traffic which is directly proportional to the number of your followers.

It has been a suprise really the amount of traffic that twitter does bring,when i 1st started using it i could not fathom out how it would work but when i check my awstats it confirms that i do get hits to my sites ???
An active Twitter account with lots of followers will get good traffic for your site. Just be active at all times, post pics and use plugins that will notify twitter whenever you publish a new post.
It really helps me with traffic and not just that, it's a good way to know other people doing the same things as you and help each other out which is great!
If you can build up some followers then it'll be really helpful, I'm just starting out with it, but i've already seen some traffic from there (used a unique URL on it)
Get lots of targeted followers to your niche.. Keep updating your twitter account with relevant tweets and not spam.
Everytime you post on twitter your followers can see or read what you are posting through their accounts. Each post that contains link has a chance to get clicked which in turn gives that site a traffic. Thus, the more followers you have.. the greater the chance of getting more traffic.
what if a follower is following like 3000 people can he read everyhting they post? and what is a good way to get followers? and who wants to make a second tweeter? lol
