    Twitter is very good for targeted traffic at the minute, i use twitter very regular and have a tool that posts my blog posts as updates for me automatically when i make them, i have seen a spike in traffic to my site but i dont use URL shortening services my full URL gets posted.

    @sellmesomethin if you wanna see what i post.

    If your site really does pertain to the trend topic it's Ok.

    But if it is just a ploy to get a click to your site, it's annoying and more black/gray hat.

    I imagine this would work better on getting someone to a blog or something with ads versus just getting someone to a site to signup and use it.
