Twitter Vs. Facebook

I prefer Facebook than Twitter. It's security situation is pretty bad.

 

I'd say facebook is more important simply because there's 5x as many users on facebook as twitter - + people tend to spend 7 hours a month on facebook, verses 2-3 hours on google, and youtube. Also fan pages can be great lead building / capturing sources and have a better track record of getting people to become loyal fans where people are less likely to follow through via twitter.

However - twitter is still very powerful and shouldn't be overlooked - but its maybe 48% for twitter, and 52% for facebook in my opinion.

 

Thanks Patrick for the input, very detailed that's what I like. I agree that the fan pages on facebook is the best tool it provides as far as business goes.

Everyone I'm not so sure I would put so much emphasis on Facebook being the bigger site, sure it has a lot of users, but it can be harder to find qualified customers on FB in my opinion, and once you find them, it is not as easy to communicate with them as it is on Twitter.

Asilen I agree as well, Facebook's security/privacy issues have been giving them a lot of problems recently.

 

facebook for sure.. u can do quiz, games, giveaway.. etc2 more easily on FB

 

You can do giveaway's on Twitter as well. I'm not exactly sure how quiz's and game's help Facebook be better than Twitter in terms of business, and even if it did, you could just make a link to them in your Tweet.

 

if u need to get more immediate referral traffic then use with twitter, if u need to build customers network with their positive comments..(it gives permanent best web reference to our products, we can just promote our product with facebook means we are getting more product conversion ratio, since it is generated with targeted traffic)

 

We voted for Facebook as a business tool. Just allows more content than the limited characters of Twitter.

 

I think it's easier to reach your customers on Twitter though, since on FB they have to come to your page or group to see your offer. When you have a following on Twitter, everything you post is immediately sent to them.

I personally dont care for either facebook or twitter. I have an account with both but hardly log into either of them. Most of the time it seems i get lot requests from people i dont know and they try sending their crap to me.

 

Yes there are plenty of people on there that are just trying to market to you, but that's not that different from other aspects of the marketing world. Not everyone on Twitter and FB are trying to sell something, the key is finding the right niche and followers, and then providing them with something they want or useful information.

According to me Facebook, it has got power to attract targeted traffic, what i have experienced. But twitter is also not lagging behind...

 

You can also get analytics programs to help you measure the effectiveness of your Twitter campaigns, which is a huge bonus, I'm not sure if Facebook has anything like that.

 

Depending on how will you use the social networking sites, on facebook you can have a targeted advertising campaign that will give you great jump on the traffic.

 

You can have a target audience on Twitter too.

 

For the past month I made $26,10 out of twitter and around $360 from facebook. What do you think?

 

Sounds pretty nice, but there are definitely people out there that have the opposite results as you with Twitter making more than FB. It really depends on what your offering, and the audience you have on each site.
