Twitter of course... Take a look at this links: http://mashable.com/2009/10/21/google-twitter-search-deal/ http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/google-accounts-on-twitter.html
I think that Facebook is great at finding and building a target audience for whatever it is your looking for. Twitter is great at keeping that same audience you created with facebook at keeping them updating on what you have to offer. I Find that Facebook is much easier at building the list, twitter is better to pitch too. but using both reaps the most rewards no matter WHAT your purpose is.
Facebook appeals to people looking to reconnect with old friends and family members or find new friends online; the mashup of features like email, instant messaging, image and video sharing, etc. feels familiar, while Twitter is a bit harder to get your arms around at first. Most people can very quickly grasp how to use Facebook to connect to friends and family, using it to share thoughts, images, etc. Twitter on the other hand, encourages you grab ideals in byte-size chunks and use your updates as jumping off points to other places or just let others know what you’re up to at any given moment.
Facebook I use for personal stuff, but in terms of getting traffic to your site - Twitter is more widely used.
use both! Twillter requires minimal effort - I think you need to put a bit more time into Facebook but its def better for networking
Both are good on their own way. All you have to do is to decide what your purpose is socialization or business. Whatever, you can use them in both way depending on your intention.
Twitter and Facebook are both great social media sites. It's great to see companies and individual brands utilizing social media news. It rewards their followers and gives them a reason to keep following. Providing exclusive news is a key strategy we recommend to our clients at Video Army. Zak Video Army
I think twitter is over rated. Who wants to know personal stuff about you unless you are a movie star? Even those kind of details most people don't care for. I like Facebook because, at least, you can post your pictures, events, and stay updated with your friends. I think the pages feature in Facebook really works well for SEO, especially if you promote it with an advertisement to get more people to like it.
Both are brilliant social media tools for business if only you can manage to gain trust, respect and authority. Twitter is pretty spammy these days and as a new company it's getting hard to gain trust there, because users knows that your main goal is to sell something to them, so you need to take different and unique approach. I found that facebook users are more naive and more likely to hook up with you. But like I said, if you will find the way to gain trust of your followers/fans - you can make a lot of money from both, twitter and fb.
Use both but in the right way for each. It doesn't add much to your time overhead. I have about equal response from each depending on the topic. Personally, I see facebook as more personal and friendly, whereas twitter is mostly (with few exceptions) a broadcast system with lots of spam.
