Twitter tweets

    Hi all,

    Small doubt regarding twitter, when we are tweeting sites url's, why we have to use the tiny or ti.im links.

    Those are URL shorteners..you need them because a tweet is limited to 140 characters and there isn't enough space to display the whole link+short desc

    I have posted sites on there for a test - and it does take it. But you can't really say anything else on the tweet.

    Yah ,it is all about the length of course. Url shortening reduces link length so you can post other stuff as well. Also , url's look better shortened (my point of view)
