If you have been facing problems getting Twitter loading during the past few weeks, read this article to find why http://www.nic4.us/?buzz=http://techcrunch.com/2010/06/29/twitter-api-limit/ After reading you will find that those of us posting tweets via API call will see reduced our rate limits.
That has really been an annoying thing lately. It seems every time I go to Twitter its over capacity. Thank you for clearing this up.
No problem, and certainly is truly annoying because if you go there via web you can see the overcapacity message coming up, but if you try a stand-alone client it returns errors with no further detail.
Yes, now it is. You know 80% tweets happens outside twitter. That is why all these API's are given a blow. Hope twitter made a right choice.
Just found and update to the issue here http://www.itpro.co.uk/624877/why-do-people-tolerate-twitter-frailties
Seems a little weird direct traffic would be getting killed off, while 3rd party software works fine. That's something that they were bound to fix in short order. That being said, it is not only annoying, but seems to follow pretty closely to a regular time schedule. Mornings are really, really heavy. Afternoons less so and evenings you can get on without difficulty.
the url didn't pull up anything but the twitter whale still showed this weekend, so I doubt it's solved
Twitter gets an absolute hammering. I can tell from all the tweets that come through my account. I know the gurus say that Twitter is great for marketing but I was wondering if anyone actually reads many of the tweets. Anyway, here's hoping we see less and less of the whale and more of the bird.
