As indyguidedotinfo correctly pointed out, it actually expires in October. The whois says the expiry date is 2009-10-03, which is October 3rd, 2009, not March 10th. That's what you get from dumb bloggers
The only way you'd ever win such a case was if your last name was "twitter" and you were to use it as a non-profit type of site. Even then it would be awfully tough to win ownership of such a domain and probably not worth the trouble.
If they lose the domain they should not be able to get it back. They need to make money and renew the domain
how exactly can someone lose it to twitter? wouldn't be fair if something is u for grabs and it gets taken away from you just like that
well!! you can make fortune sometimes if you register a domain similar to some well famous domain.. its plain business.....smtimes it works smtims it doesnt...
You'd be asking for an immediate legal problem under trademark law if you attempted to snag a domain like this.
Fun facts, never knew that Twitter.org was expired and that they didn't buy the whole domain package at the same time. I guess it was because like a few years back, it was just a side project. Hopefully now it will be different.
I dont think a good website like twitter will go out of the internet world. There is no confirmed statement yet from twitter's webmaster.
I Think Im About To Start Pounding My Head On My Desk!.. The Domain Does Not Expire Until October 2009 !.. Its Not Expired!!
