I believe it depends on the number of facebook friends you have vs the number of twitter followers you have. I've had more luck at getting leads using a facebook fan page instead of my profile page or fb wall. Build yourself a nice FB fanpage and promote it in your sig link on various forums (within the niche you are currently working) and you should see results start to build in a few weeks. As with any marketing, it takes time and effort. There really are no shortcuts unless you have a big advertising budget.
You should defiantly be using both. I have multiple twitter accounts that I have made good money from. The coolest thing about twitter is that tweets and links have the potential to go viral very quickly. Facebook probably has more users and thus a larger market. FB also has a wider variety of ways that you can reach out to your target market. ie. fb ads, groups and fan pages. As I have said, you should be using both. From a personal preference I like using fb more than twitter.
My answer is It depends on your time. Well, if you have a large amount of time then do it both. If you have a very limited time like if you are going to school or have a job, then just do what is the most effective. Since on your opinion that facebook is better and you have a job or school time then work on your facebook the most.
It depends on your niche to be honest. For example a graphic design or web development niche works better over Twitter where as a beauty niche would work better on Facebook. If your niche is within blogging, SEO or IM I would say Twitter is better. Overall I would personally say Stumbleupon ranks higher than Twitter and Facebook *Not advertising, showing an example. Actually it depends on the nature of the website. In my point of view twitter is a platform where professionals meet and Facebook is a more personal networking platform. So choose according to your website or product nature.

The marketing system and the system of giving visitor in facebook and twitter is different actually. I can compare with one another. If you master any one of them than other one you will gain more traffic from it. So, I think we should use both of them.
