I prefer Facebook, it seems easier to navigate. Although they are right, both are a necessity for a good marketing plan.

This is a given. Facebook is better in so many ways. All Twitter is:

    1. Notpad to update your status.

    Kind of pointless.

Facebook is better for general purposes. For emergency and on time messages Twitter is best, as we can see (unfortunately) in Haiti earthquake relief and information efforts

They really are two entirely different entities, so you can't really pick one over the other by using a broad generalization. Twitting is for spreading the word, so to speak, quickly, in the same way that SMSs, graffiti, flyers or whatever do - they're soundbites that send you off in search of more info, if you want it. The focus is the information. Facebook is more about grouping people who've already heard the soundbite and decided to get together to discuss it (not exactly, but more or less). Sure, it'll be a source of sharing new stuff, but the focus is entirely different. It's the place that's at the center, together with the relationships that link the Facebookers. From a sales or marketing perspective, Twitter a sale or promotional offer will get you a lot more buzz and is a quicker way to get the word around fast. That's the point of it, after all - retweeting info. If you want to blog somewhere public, then Facebook it, and make it pretty with photos (like scrapbooking for corporations - my mother would be proud :)

Yeah, fair enough - twit for traffic, and facebook for fidelity. That's my alliteration quotient for the day.

Twitter is very good for Networking. But one should know how to use it properly. You will get many followers in Twitter and thus good traffic.

Comparing benefits of this two huge social networks...

I actually guess that Facebook has more users than Twitter has, it means you may reach more people to get as visitor on your website. But sometimes Twitter is more useful. For example, people interested in software technologies, prefer Twitter rather than Facebook, I think.

If a Twitter user see an attractive link to your content, she/he has no chance to unclick it, in this situation Twitter is more helpful to get visitors.

In anyway, it is all about mathmatics, and how many people you can reach easily. Here, Facebook gets the first spot and golden medal, no doubt.

Using both of them is good strategy to make progress : )

From my experience if you want quick results without the tedious work of filling in forms, go with Twitter.

Facebook, MySpace and similars are more likely for those who need a sort of online curriculum with up-to-date changes on it

Twitter has lots of auto posts that nobody reads. When I first started using Twitter, I had pretty good results but once you get too many followers and you are following so too many.......... your tweets get lost in the shuffle. I don't like Twitter any more. FaceBook on the other hand is cracking down on affiliate links. You can create a fan page but this depends on how much traffic you get to that specific page so you are down to promoting your fan page. Just a thought..........perhaps neither are the best for online marketing?? Just a thought..

Facebook for personal & Twitter for business. You can also promote business websites here and there on Facebook but don't spam. Friends would even block you.
