How successful have you all been in your twitter marketing? I'm not measuring success in terms of financial, but more in terms of traffic from twitter posts. Has that translated into substantial leads for anyone? I do twitter marketing, and recommend it as part of an overall marketing strategy, but I havent had a "gush" of visitors from twitter. So just wondering your experience.

The secret is to have a lot of followers who trust you. That's why its essential you participate occassionally instead of using automated means all the time. I will recommend putting a twitter button on your site. Most likely those who join your twit from your site/advertisement are more likely to respond to your offer than those people following you from twitter. The reason is, those following you from twitter have the same purpose as you - to SELL. By adding a twitter button on your site you will be building your own responsive followers.
According to my experience twitter marketing does not bring a lot of traffic. Posting on digg and bookmaking on delicious is much more effective.
If you don't have enough followers on Twitter, then it may mean that you can gain nothing if you want to promote your products or services on Twitter, although it is the most popular micro-blogging site.
The goal should be to get real followers. Having more followers is not going to help you if they don't care about what you are saying... on twitter, it is easy to get more followers but it is very hard to get anyone to click on your links. I think followers quality is important. I have 170+ followers many followers visit to my shared links.
You have to maintain your tweets on a daily basis to bring traffic to your site. Have you tried an Auto Tweet Poster? There's tons of them...just google it.
