I've been reading for weeks on various methods to market on Twitter, and have come to one conclusion from my own personal efforts- Twitter followers do NOT click Adsense, they WILL click affiliate links, but almost NEVER make a purchase. I'm talking about well-targeted followers in specific niches, mind you. This crowd has me dumbfounded. I read articles in the news about spammers getting rich on Twitter, but have never heard it straight from people actually doing it (UNLESS they are selling some half-baked method). I'll keep at it and experiment some more. If I find something worth the time and effort, I should probably go ahead and write the eBook and sell it everywhere.....that's the only way I can see any real money changing hands. Anybody care to prove this theory wrong, without a link to the latest "Get 1,000,000 Twitter Followers Overnight....." nonsense?
I believe you are right! twitter, i think it's just a waste a time. The only way to make money online. is to find a problem and solve it. OR Promote an affiliate link. Social networks, in my opinion don't work very well.
I am perplexed at how people use social networking sites to make money at all. If someone posts too many links they find themselves de-friended (from me at least). If some random person follows me on twitter, I'll check them out, if each of their tweets seems to be selling something, then they can follow me all they like, but I'll not be following them.
I've taken the advice of some so-called "gurus".... Developed a good following, posted helpful advice and legitimate links, with an affiliate or personal site link about every 20 posts. LOTS of clicks- but none of them converted. Used hashtags, searched for key terms, followed people who posted the key terms in my targeted niche. DIGG worked for tremendous search engine traffic and Adsense clicks (until my account and all my postings were pulled recently). Have never seen such a tough (stubborn) social networking crowd as Twitter!
you can make money with twitter i agree it can be a little more difficult because there alot of spammers but just check out the free twitter videos below click here
Making money off your followers is certainly wasted time, but on the other hand a twitter account named with the right keywords may rank very well very fast and generate some nicely converting SEO traffic this way. This whole "build masses of followers" approach is worthless.
You're probably right. However, I recently started a new website and am actively using Twitter as part of my marketing strategy. My goal isn't really any direct traffic or revenue, rather, I want to create a buzz and some publicity. Maybe some of my followers will blog about the site or whatever. Visitors are never a bad thing, even if they don't click on the ads much or buy anything.
Yeah, twitter sucks. go try other method. (yesh..someone's leaving the twitter game, less men, more share) I made 3 affiliate sales from 2 accounts in twitter last week. Enough said.
