Just like with anything, you get what you put in. I don't like trying to trick people into clicking by pretending I'm not selling them something. I am up-front about what I'm doing and people who are interested in hosting services, hosting-related news and web conferencing news/producs pay attention.
Some very good points here. Twitter founders are very aware of the spamming problem and have already started to implement solutions as i speak. the beauty of twitter is in its analytical capabilities and if you know how to exploit that your on a gold run
Twitter isn't a waste of time. You just have to do things right there. You can do every thing on Twitter right from promoting affiliate products, your own business/services, or at least get more traffic to your blog/website that converts well. Most of the time people look at the number of followers as the most important factor to be successful on Twitter and thats where they go wrong. It's not the number but the kind of followers you have. You need to have relevant follower to make things happen. If you are promoting web hosting and if 80% of your followers are people who are not into blogging or website business (and wont need any hosting), chances are you wont make any sale. The same is true if half your followers are other people who are trying to sell something themselves. So, get your followers right (and it takes time to do that) and things will work out for you. If nothing else, you can at least make some money doing some paid tweets (i made more than hundred dollar this month with that).
I've attracted some new clients to my writing consultancy thanks to Twitter. I think the less spammy you are, the more people will pay attention when put a really good offer in front of them.
actually it is difficult to track it, but i can coz i have niche where i get only traffic from selected places, so i know...
I used it to promote my website but unfortunately I came across of other similar merchants who were just trying to promote their businesses to me so we got to the point in which we were promoting each other's businesses with no result.
yeah, twitter will help in developing more contacts. Its help in get traffic which i heard that it promote your business. probably some % to some %. thanks.
Well, there's no harm in trying! Twitter Marketing is working for me so far. Twitter is a free service that lets you communicate and exchange few interesting words with people through answering one simple question: What's happening?
Yes, exactly. I think this is true all over the Internet these days. The less spammy and more up-front you are, the more people trust you, because they should.
do a quick search on google for case studies and you'll find all the info you need. Twitter works great for me, but it's not an overnight deal, you must put time into it to get another out of it.
I personally think its great for marketing....but i also think that there is a fine line between spamming and sharing a few links... I really think you need to interact on twitter and engage in conversation.
It hasnt worked for my company yet but I am going to tweak things a bit and stick at it and see what happens.
