It's usefulness is tailing off as expected as (if you believe the stats) more than half the users are spammers of marketers.
You're wrong, not a waste of time at all. First, you should consider having targeted followers, I mean that you should get followers that have interest in your offer. You can get those followers by using a twitter friend adder. Then, when tweeting about your offer, try as much as possible not to make it looks like advertising. Tweet like you've found a valuable information that you wanna share. If you tweet smart, you will get retweets and things will go viral. Provide interesting informations to your followers and get them trust you before trying to advertise them something. Do not link directly your tweets to your cpa link, always have a landing page, write a positive review (make it looks natural) about your cpa offer. Finally, I have noticed that freebies offers convert easier
Its poor for me. Never helped much as I heard about it. I see most of the people like us are there. - Digital -
I've never used twitter for such purposes but I don't expect a shiny future for them because most users starting to spam and it won't be anything else than a spamming way.
So far marketing on twitter for me has been like hitting a moving target...by the time you make a post...it has been pushed down so fast...It just has not worked for me and I have huge following.
my opinion is that it was good for marketing before an year, now it's been used more and more by spammers
Twitter doesn't produce amazing results. If you want to see any results at all you are going to have to be smart about the way you tweet, who you tweet to etc. e You NEED targeted followers, you need to tweet smart in the hope it will get re-tweeted. No one should rely on Twitter or any other social network as a primary form of marketing. In my opinion Twitter is a great tool that is MEANT to go hand-in-hand with other, larger scale marketing efforts. I only beleive its worthwhile if you spend a maximum of 5-10 mins per day on it. Saying that. Our company has generated a couple of large sales through Twitter, we only receive roughly 15-20 hits per day from social networks though we see it an beneficial as we arent spending much time on it.
Well, I wouldn't think that twitter is just a waste of time. I've been having decent amount of traffic by using twitter. Of course it could take time, but following people and having followed by people of same interest works for me at least..
Offers like the above are useless. If you aren't actually communicating -- both talking AND listening -- with your followers, you're never going to get anything like a decent conversion rate on it. In all likelihood, 66%+ of your followers are marketers who auto-followed you with something like Twitter Director, and will unfollow you (also automatically) in a week or two unless you follow them back. See the other stupid Twitter poll that's on the same page.
i have a twitter account, i have around 80 followers and i am following around 150, but there has been no conervsion to my site... any advice or suggestions?
yes, that is what is so confusing. you have so many followers still you are not getting traffic. i am also looking for some wys that at least half of the followers should click at least once in my site...
i still have yet to try out twiter and see its potential. I have heard some descent things. one guy i know makes 30$ from adsense with traffic from twitter.
How do you know you are getting traffic from Twitter? Since scheduling my tweets in advance using tweet later my sales have increased but in my sites traffic stats I do not see any traffic from Twitter.
