Twitter launched the first phase of its Verified Accounts program yesterday, meaning that celebrities, musicians, athletes, actors, public officials and public agencies on the service can now display a “verified account” button on their Twitter pages.

That's such a great feature to Twitter, now we don't have to doubt an account since it has the verified status.

Yes, every celebrity that has the verified status, it means he's real and not somebody else :)

I am still very new with the whole Twitter thing, and was wondering how people actually make money with it. If you are only posting what you have done or are doing how is that really helping you, and how do you go about actually getting someone interested in your site.

I mean I don't lead a very interesting life, who would really care what I did?

Just more curious than anything else...

    Jeremie,

Twitter is now divided between a link farm, with lots of marketers acting like Google doesn't exist or like people can't search for things on their own and people posting what Twitter is set up for: socializing. To make money with Twitter you have to specialize in niches and focust on them back and forth among your followers. Anything else can be a waste of valuable time tweeting around. I recommend you read this free report to get some ideas: http://gowebtraffic.com

    Regards.

High Time. There are loads of celebs that I regularly follow e.g. Jimmy Fallon, Rachael Ray, etc. and I see that they have multiple accounts. I don't know which is which. For now, I'm following the account that has the highest number of followers. Not sure if the highest follower account is the legit one.

It is really best for all. To know that there are verified accounts to be displayed on their pages.

No more impersonators? Marketers figured that if they impersonated a celebrity they would make money because of the traffic. They used to do the same thing on MySpace.

There is one person on twitter impersonating God!

    http://twitter.com/god

His site is actually Clickball.com which is interesting.

Can we verify ourselves? What would class you as a celebrity? Many people are celebrities in their various niches.
