HI twitter is a cool place and good for getting knowlidge and udpates. There is only one issue that spammer can create maximum follower with software. Twitter team needs to control this issue only.
twitter is good for getting traffic, but i think twitter is not good to sell products. i have lots of traffic from twitter to my blog, but nobody buy the product. maybe something wrong with my method?
@bk871 thank you for the tips, but i need tips how to sell products with traffic from twitter. as i know, visitors from twitter just click on my blog post and leave.
For me, it is worth it, i just post the link of my new blog on my twitter and i've got 20 visits in less than one hour. After, it depends of the interest of your followers and how many you have. Edit: it is very hard to sell whatever it is on Twitter or other program, you need patience and offer a very unique product.
I get a lot of traffic from using Twitter. It is a good way of getting a message across quickly and efficiently. I also use tweetboard on my site and I find people like that.
It depends on how you work with it. For me its great marketing tool. Remember even in Recession there were smart people making millions.
Any medium that contains large groups of people can be effective for marketing, the key is finding out how. I've made good money from MySpace and Twitter, but next to nothing on Facebook. I obviously haven't figured out the key yet, that doesn't mean facebook isn't an effective marketing medium.
Selling on twitter is not going to happen unless its a cpa zip, of course there are exceptions to the rule but for the most part people on twitter want instantaneous interaction so you only have their attention for less then 10 seconds. Don't hard sell, just be yourself meaning talking about everyday things and also mention the business along with it so it comes off as you being a busy person that enjoys a certain product(your own), or be up front and offer coupon codes to your customers if you have a business. People want to know that your not just a business person 24/7 365 plugging your stuff all the time, but your also real. In addition, comment on what they are doing and you will get a lot of followers. Hope this helped!
Twitter is good if you use it and not just spam it. Just like any other social network. Be "social" and you will get results.
Twitter is only good if you know how to use it as a tool. If you don't know what you are doing then it's not going to work well for you. See most people will build their websites, include a link where their viewers can follow them on Twitter, and then when they don't get the results that they want they give up and say Twitter doesn't work. The problem is that they are sending traffic in the wrong direction - don't send the people from your website to Twitter. Instead work the other way around and send traffic from Twitter to your website. Another thing is people try to treat Twitter like a marketplace, you can't do that it is a Social Network. If you are trying to make money through Twitter with your services or products you have to build relationships that will lead to traffic to your website and then let your website do the rest of the work. And finally quality of traffic - you determine the quality of traffic that you build from Twitter. Make sure that the people that you follow are targeted to your niche and get rid of any follower that seem as though they have no interest in your niche. You also want to stay away from any auto-following applications because you will not receive a lot of targeted followers which is essential.
Exactly what I have to do to promote my site? Should I have to follow the people or group of similar interest?
I love twitter and i love social bookmarks. Started quiet few websites so far. One of them is marketed trough text ads and banner exchanges widely, one of them is marketed trough 10-15 traffic exchanges and email marketing, few others trough social media with twitter as priority and guess what... From my own experience it's all good, every one of these trials, but looking in long run twitter and social bookmarks showed best results which never stopped producing traffic and search engines attention. So, GO FOR IT!!!
I can drive some traffic using tweets but not enough to spend any time doing so. Strange thing: at the moment I'm getting about 100 visits per day from twitter but I don't know exactly how. It must be one of my articles (don't know which) has taken the fancy of some twits who are passing on its url in tweets or re tweets.
