Twitter is a great investment if you can get the maximum number of people to retweet your posts. The power of moneymaking in twitter lies in the retweets.
how much traffic from twitter is good ? like how much are you guys talking about? like 100-200 hits/day? or like 2K-3K hits / day?
Easiest twitter traffic is setting up a Autoblog and editing the AutoBlog Plugin to post the same URL each time. Now you need to write down the top 10 Trends on Twitter at that moment, go and create YouTube RSS feeds for each one, and enter them into the Autoblogger. Within 30 mins you'll start seeing the traffic roll in. Because it's using trends you'll gain traffic from those actively searching twitter for the trends will start hitting your tweets and since twitter users are click happy you'll have all the traffic you can stand. Rinse and repeat this every few hours(4hrs) or once a day (all depends on the amount of traffic you want) You can usually pull 6K hits (at the minimum)per day or more.
I tried to give it a go – even included the twitter cloud in my blogs sidebar – no one really cared and I just couldn’t get into using it. Not only is twitter NOT a waste of time, it might pave the way for a medium that’s actually vastly more impactful than blogging in some ways. I didn’t appreciate the social subtleties of twitter until a friend pointed out an interesting concept behind it — twitter creates an ‘ambient connection’ between twitter-ers and followers. Normally you only learn about random facts about people if they are physically near you (within your “50 foot zone†as Tom Allen of MIT named it in his research on collaboration in the 70s).
This is an excellent idea to get traffic.. not real sure about the quality I would imagine it would depend on what you are promoting. But an excellent suggestion none the less. Kudos Hydro jmo blackpaw
Its a great way to get traffic if u of course know how to !!! Nowadays people spam it more than before
Twitter is great if you know how to use it to your advantage. There are a surprising amount of people who think you can set up an account, add a bunch of random followers and post a bunch of links and profit. Nothing could be further from the truth. But if you use it to build relationships and drive to traffic to your pages it can be a very good use of time. I've profited quite nicely off twitter in the last year.
I think the conclusion is - Twitter brings traffic, but it is mostly not quality traffic and won't result in sales. Except maybe for certain niches and the person tweeting.
It has been quite a useful tool for me, I am currently job hunting and several of the specialist jobs boards are now tweeting all their new jobs, I created my own list of this twitter accounts and now have a effectively what RSS used to do but with a bit more functionality and in real time.
I do agree that twitter is pretty good on getting traffic, I'll promote my blog there every once in a while, not too often though. I don't want to spam my profile ..
Its good if you use the right techniques. No point targeting people who would not be interested in your niche/product. You need to make sure people are interested in what you have to offer and will actually read your tweets.
