Does anyone know if Twitter will ever delete inactive accounts (for example if an account hasn't tweeted for 5 years or so)?
Do they? I have about 3 accounts as far as i know but only use one ever since. I believe I got few followers to the two accounts but hasn't use them for years. hope they wont delete them. i might use them later.
Its not my account.. Its someone that made an account in 2010 with a username I desperately need and they made a single tweet saying hello... :/ They must do a clear out at some stage right?
Oh man I so wish I could go back & have the very first Twitter account that I made in August 2008. I see its still around with only 3 tweets. I can't recover the account as I've forgotten the email/password I used since. The point is it seems Twitter doesn't delete unused accounts. So bite the bullet & get something else.
i don't think they wouldn't delete unused account cause maybe the user would get back to it and has a lot of information.
They won't...not as far as I know. If there's a particular username you really want, that's taken and the person hasn't tweeted in 5 years, sometimes you can get a group of your friends or people together and all of you report that account (like report it for harassment or spam or something) and it will cause the account to go into suspension. After suspension it sometimes gets deleted, and the username will be free (up for grabs) again, it takes a little while though. There are times though I've seen where it just stays stuck in suspension forever. I don't what know determines whether or not it stays like that or gets deleted. But the best bet people usually do is to get tons of people to report the acc.
