finally some figures... i wouldnt be happy with any method that brings in less than 300-400 hits per day. i massively doubt that using twitter in an ethical way will bring in any more than the amount of friends you have - so an average I am guessing 40 - 100 p/d max unless you are a celebrity/guru... and i wouldnt do it unethically (as I know a few of the blackhat boys are doing), because i dont want to be a part of ruining twitter like the myspace whores ruined myspace.
I have publishers who get over 100 clicks a day from their Twitter profile. Twitter is a great source of traffic and can also be used to make quite a bit of money
thanks for the info twtad! if that is the top end i'm guessing the average is about half that... personally its not enough traffic for me, but i can see someone who struggles to get traffic thinking that is a good amount. also if the traffic is quite targeted i can see it working for some people
Twitter is very useful, especially if you run a blog with your website or on its own because you can set twitter to receive every new blob post you publish.
I think the main problem with people not getting traffic from Twitter is that they follow too many "twitter whores" by just going down the list and adding everybody they see. What I mean is that they follow people that are following 2,000 other people. If you add people like that and even if they add you back, the chances of them seeing your updates within all the other garbage are slim to none. The trick is to find people that are following your competitors and then look into their profile. If they are following less than 50 people, add them, the chances of them adding you to their friends list are not that great, I would say maybe 20-30%, however, because they are following only around 50 people the chances of them seeing your updates are increased by 1,000%. Also these people are valuable because they're not following random people and companies, they're following a few of your competitors which means they're already interested in what you're offering.
its easy twitter traffic, with one tweet i often get 10hits within the minute with very few followers, however, i found that its hard to convert it to a sale or CPAlead
Does anyone think that Twitter would work on a new blog or only for established blogs? I have a few blog ideas in the works and since I've had a few Twitter recs. I'm thinking it may be worth a shot. Any insight?
