I've been using Twitter Karma to bulk unfollow people. However, it suddenly stopped working and I need an alternative. What it did was match up those who you were following but weren't following you, those who you were following you but you weren't following etc. In my case I used it to get rid of those I am following who didn't follow after me after a certain period of time. Is there another program out there that shows you who you are following that is not following you?
friendorfollow.com does. Though just unfollowing people because they don't follow you is stupid.Unfollow them if you don't like what they tweet, if they don't interest you - you do read what people tweet to you, don't you?
First of all, I'm a newbie so be merciful if possible. I do definitely follow people that I'm interested in. The people that I actively follow using Tweetdeck, etc. are people with knowledgeable postings in my field. However, these kind of people are actually few and far between. From what I've seen there's maybe a dozen or two dozen good solid posters in my area. Right now I've got a couple hundred followers and am trying to expand that. The way that I've been doing it is to follow 50-100 people for a few days. Out of that a few percent will follow me. I will then look at their posts and see if they have relevant posts for me and, if so, follow them in Tweetdeck. The others I unfollow and then cycle again. In this way I have been keeping a nice steady growth of twitter followers, but I have to admit it's fairly slow. Any suggestions to improve this process I would very much appreciate.
Well, I was using twitter follower of John Chow ! It was good and helped me to manage my twitter well ! - Digital -
No it's not ! With the exception of large entities and celebrities, most normal people will follow you back if they are truly participating in Twitter, and you share the same interests. Most of the ones that don't, aren't participating just spamming, or update once every 3 weeks. I say dump them and make room for real people. Sometimes you need the room, you can only go up to 2k, and then only 200 more than are following you.
I think I am going to try TwitterShuffle.com myself and see what it can do. It is just a matter of trial and error, anyway.
yupe its feel so bad when you follow so many and there are so little that follow, thats really doesn't look good
Following people should actually yield some good results otherwise there is no use of just holding a large number of followers.
A lot of people want to bulk unfollow people because if they have too many people who they're following that aren't following them back, Twitter prevents them from following any more. So "dumping" anyone who's not following them back allows them to follow more people so that they can get more followers. Not sure if that made sense or not the way I expained it here.
