Hey i have a site in my sig the juicing one, everyone is going on about twitter these days aswell as facebook, i am just on facebook personally now, but ive seen a few companies do the whole twitter thing aswell as have their own facebook.

is it worth the hassle of setting one up i.e do they bring any traffic, im know vaguely how facebook works but not twitter.

i like the concept of it though, just dont know how people would find the site form it.

    Cheers for any help

They are more important if you have a customer/client base - but it doesn't hurt otherwise.

But there is one thing for certain, Twitter is the most excellent means to share and find out what is happening right now. Through twitter, you can constantly keep abreast on what is going on. You can also build a relationship with other marketers.

Both are good ways to keep interacting with the users. I find you will have more fan base on Facebook because Facebook is larger. However twitter is an amazing tool for building brands and more.

If you have a client base or operating a business, making use of twitter allows your clientele base to stay up to date on what your company is doing, news and events as well as new product offers. It can be used for a number of things

You can also use Twitter to watch for people who are interested in your topic, or asking questions. The search function in Seesmic Desktop is excellent. Allowing you to watch as people are discussing your topic in realtime.

Example, if someone asks for a good recipe for Juicing, you can reply with a link to your site, pointing to a great recipe. This may at the moment only be a one to one relationship, but becomes larger as people search on Twitter for the topic.

Hopefully this person will be greatful for your recipe and start following you. With time you can buildup a list of people interested in your niche, and be providing them with content through Twitter which brings them back to your blog or site, allowing you the opportunity to convert them to buying customers.

There are lot of theories out there on how to do twitter or facebook. My suggestion is to find a simple, white hat type deal for one of them - focus on it for a few weeks, and then try the other one. Since you have a personal facebook I would stretch your twitter muscles first. You can always PM if you want to know my strategy but honestly - there are tons to choose from.

You can tweet your blog posts URLs into twitter and it will bring in some traffic from your followers. (the people whom your message reaches).

Don't really like Facebook so much. The social factor can drag you in far too much. I think Twitter is good and is certainly not just a trend. Live search on there is pretty neat.

I would spend more time building content and backlinks. Network with fellow horror movie sites as well and you'll see better results. P.S, I love that header on your site, I'm a big fan of the original TCM.:D
