Hey guys, Could you please share your best practices for using Twitter and FB to enhance your SEO efforts? Tweets themselves don't give any links (at least no dofollow), but they don't even show up in linkcheckers as nofollow. Same with facebook. Google doesn't seem to notice them at all. Profiles are nofollow as well. But are there way to have twitter to accelerate your link building efforts?
Detach the thought of Facebook or Twitter increasing your SEO. Social Media Optimization and Search Engine Optimization are entirely different beasts, but both necessary. You can build a great deal of traffic THROUGH FB and Twitter, but your ranking won't soar because of them.
I would deny that... social media optimisation is very much apart of seo.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofhwPC-5Ub4 check the video... the very Matt Cutts says yes they do use twitter & facebook links as a ranking signal....
I have to agree, it doesn't help SEO but you can get traffic if you have a large following on Twitter.
I think you should check google realtime search. There you find that google will show all tweets related to your search.
