Twitter doesn't work by itself

I've posted 90 tweets in 2 months, this corresponding to the updates of my website. All undercover, as there is no link to Twitter on my website.

I don't follow anyone, and doesn't intend to. But it just doesn't work that way, as I've only gained 12 followers.

I really have no interest in following anyone, I just want more people on my website. Can anyone tell me if people start following you quickly and in large numbers, if I put a big "Follow me on Twitter" on every page of my website?

Once you start to get a good number of followers, they'll just keep coming. You need at least 25 before you start getting a good flow. This is if your tweets are niched and interesting.

The only people that can get a large number to follow them without following anyone are major celebrities and big brands. Look through directories like twellow and wefollow and find people in your niche to follow.
Twitter is a conversation, not a monologue.

OK. I wonder if Twitter is appropriate for me. My website is quiet successful, I would like to use Twitter like some other kind of RSS. I just have no time (nor will) to follow others. I guess that if I could buy 1000 followers for $10, I would do it, but right now, I'm very disappointed with the fact that my tweets do not give more traffic.

This is what matters, traffic, and after 90 tweets, Twitter doesn't even show up in my stats!

I guess so, and as a webmaster, I don't do much conversation.

hi! there are plenty of ways to drive traffic to your site via twitter. BUT... as stated b4, its all about the conversations. there are a lot of robots on twitter :)

My website has more than 200.000 visitors per month, there's no way I can start any conversation with even a hundredth of them...

I understand there's bots, but I have yet to understand how effective they are.

This is the software that adds followers and all you have t do wait tham accept your follows.

You can add daily 270Followers is Twitter limits for now

After thay have followed you than you can even post private messages to the users to make sure they will check your message you have sent..

We had a user called http://twitter.com/r3al_girl

We tried it first time there as we developed this software before 3 Week And you can check the results of followers we added and how many accepted us for time of 2 weeks.

I have over 6,500 followers, 950 tweets and the traffic is not that impressive. I would review your website stats and focus on what works.

You can get more followers only when you follow somebody. That is the thing observed in twitter. If you want more followers, do follow like-minded people. ALL THE BEST!!!

That is a complete joke. I've searched Twitter accounts with keywords related to the subjects of my website and I found more than 50.000. I could follow them all, and maybe one tenth will follow me back, but there will not be any single piece of conversation. I don't know how to talk and reply with 5000 people.

And when I see people following thousands of people... Just don't know how they're doing...

Then twitter's not for you - you don't have to be on twitter - not all medium suit all messages. Actually, I say good for you for realising that, there are lots of brands, sites, companys, sites, blogs, 'whatevers' who insist they have to be on the latest buzz 'thing' without any thought as to what they're going to say when they are on there and how they are going to use it.

It depends on the niche. I registered for twitter some 3 days ago and already recieved 5 hits, with only 2 followers.

You need to let them have a reason to follow you. Why not offer them an incentive when they join as your follower?
