Hi, I understand you can delete your Direct Message history which in-turn will delete on the recipients DM inbox. This seems to work if you delete your DM's on a PC, but if you're using a smartphone (iPhone in this case) I notice it only removes from the senders inbox and not the recipients. Do smartphones keep messages on their server or something? Anyone experience this?
Hello, I don't have any experience with this, but the concept of deleting a DM in your inbox resulting in the deletion of the recipient's message sounds crazy. Did you observe this after logging into two accounts on the same computer? Aren't cookies or something similar involved? That would explain why you can see the message on another device.
Hey - thanks for the reply. Yep, it's 100% official - you can delete both your inbox and the recipients DM's if it's the message you sent. On my iphone, i can switch between multiple accounts which is how I tested the direct message query. The result was my 'recipient' account kept the message. On a PC however, the test worked. I want it to work on an iphone!
You are right: https://twitter.com/Support/status/253611215190896642 It is not very logical, though. In this case, my next step would be finding a way to use the iPhone app on a computer (you'll probably need to install some kind of software which can emulate iOS).
