Twitter Case Study

I am starting a case study about twitter, and I am hoping for some comments about my test. At this point I have not received a single visitor from twitter. The reason for this is that I do not have that many followers, so I am going to start actively finding more followers.

My aim is to test how succesful twitter can be in gaining traffic for a blog. The test will continue at least two weeks and I am going to post updates at least every other day.

Here is the first post on the series: Starting the test

If you are interested in helping me with this test, then follow me on twitter and I will follow you back.

Any comments or suggestions? Write here or on the blog itself, it is a dofollow blog.

Followed you (I'm @twiiche). Love the blog by the way, nicely put together.

One thing: you're retweeting posts which is great, but not interacting with anybody. A little social interaction will get you some visitors.

the most important is to write useful or at least interesting tweets. when i started using twitter, like one year ago, i remember i followed 20-30 users per day after i use the search function to find related "twitters" :) Many of them followed me and so on...

    BTW, I followed you :) gay_xxx

I think you're missing a key part to Twitter.
You have to have conversations, not just RT every link you see.
I only say this because I didn't see any @replies on the first page.
    Just something to think about
I've been promoting this account @BrandonSheley less that a week
I also think Twitter list are good
Here is a good post I made on a friends forum
Using Social Media to Strengthen my Community

    cheers and good luck :)

Twitter is amazing for building lists... A lot of people on twitter want FREE guides, books, how tos... and theyre willing to give their name/email for it.

You also need to connect with your followers... get to know them and what they like and who they are.

My own experience with twitter has not been great. It does not mean that it is not a great tool. It needs to be used properly.

You should use twitter adding scripts/programs.. honestly.

As much as people tell you that you should, theyre probably trying to make commission off of you lol

Just do it manually, or have people follow you naturally.

    Again an update: http://blogidy.com/2009/11/twitter-case-study-3-getting-addicted-to-twitter/

Now, I have actually received some people to visit my blog. Google Analytics count 8 people, which is great in my opinion, because I have only used twitter actively for a few days.

Is there someone on this forum that gets a lot of visitors from twitter a day, and how much do you receive?

What do you think is the average amount of visitors a website receives from twitter?
