Does anyone can give me the reason why some (may be many) twitter users using services to gain many followers? The way it is working is you follow many people in a hope they will follow you back. When I see Twitter users, that following thousands, to me it is sign that this user is crap. It is impossible really to follow thousand people, just reading all their tweets is a full time job. When you follow thousands and they follow you back, really there is no connection, no interest - just numbers. My question is why it is so important to get that many followers, especially when you know they really follow you in return and not reading your tweets. You cannot use it for marketing, since they not reading your tweets. What is the point?
It's not impossible, especially with the new twitter list feature. I follow thousands of users, and I have about 20 list that I use to sort all those users. You can quickly see what users in X list are doing. You CAN use it for marketing if you know what you're doing (@BrandonSheley)
I agree profiles that follow thousands and aren't followed are lopsided and I generally don't follow back.
