hello all recently found this site and am sorry that i did not find this much earlier. I am in recruitment and HR mainly and recently started a new online job board. hence need some serious SEO tips form the professionals here. I will really appreciate if any oen could comment on the following. Do you think having many say 50 twitter account with a back link (in the description) and feeds from the jobs that gets posted in my site, be helpful? I have access to resources and can get 50 or even more accounts set up but just wondering if it is worth the effort. thanks in advance Shan Ghoshal
Add followers to your twitter accounts. Many of the followers have their own websites and they can put links to your website.
All links from twitter are nofollow. Therefore they won't do anything to increase your rankings in the search engines. However Twitter can be a great way to promote yourself / your site to real people (and therefore drive targeted traffic). I'd be happy to advise on your site / best course of action. twitter is of little help with seo, but like DoA said, it can be used to promote yourself and/or your products, and each can have a different twitter account, but you can waste a lot of time with twitter, so I would focus more on another way or getting incoming backlinks if it were me, but then I really don't like HR people, but then that is just me too....
Not going to do much for you as the links will be tagged with nofollow. Besides, Google may handle twitter stream links differently than profile 'homepage' links too. I would focus on succeeding and building up authority/followers on a few GOOD profiles rather than try to maintain 50.
I wouldn't use twitter just for linkbuilding purposes. Sure, your links will get picked up, even though they are nofollow. But twitter is more for crowd sources and driving them to your site as said by others above. Effectively using twitter means having to manage them, and 50 or so sites is a lot, depending on the amount of people you have on your team.
search a keyword - and then find the top people with the most followers, follow them and you will get followers. then unfollow the first people and add the the next 10 or so
Twitter and other social network site is just another way of promoting your site. And like other social network sites it will help your site in terms of traffic. And in my opinion, you don't have to create many (50) twitter accounts. A few will do. I suggest you follow other twitter accounts that has a relevant to your niche.
