Twitter is basically meant for microblogging. It can generate traffic to your website or blog. As you make any updation to your website or in your blog,all the members in your group,or in network at twitter get updated that you had make a change in your blog or website. by this way people can visit your blog to see the changes you had made their or to see the content of your post. It's a 2.0 shout box .... straight from 2001 .... the teens never seen the shout boxes from way back and think it's original and I guess that they think they're good because they own a small piece of the net.
twitter is an awesome marketing tool in my opinion but you need to make a use of it. nothing will come for free you'll have to build a network of followers but then it can be pretty helpfull
I don't really know of anyone that is all that successful using Twitter. Sure, some people have a lot of followers. But as a general rule of thumb, i've never seen anyone say "Look, I just recieved 1000 visitors from my twitter comment!" In the same breath, I can't say much because I've never really seriously went about utilizing it for marketing.
