Can you change my mind? I decided to buy 1 or a few .tv domains as I read some nice things about it. I would buy these for 3-4 years and then sell them. It would be parked until then. Can you give me good reasons not to do that (besides it's price)?
you are asking about the future of .TV Well I can say, at the moment there are a lot of (good) .tv dropped each day. Good luck
It's one of those borderline extensions. Everyone likes it because it's "tv," yet, nobody takes it seriously enough to build a huge site with it because they're too preoccupied with .com's. Also, they're expensive to renew. Premium .tv's haven't sold for very much, either...worse than .org and probably at the level of .mobi's.
I love the .tv extention. If you are going to develop a video site or anything with rich media, I think .tv is a great choice. If you are buying for only a few names & looking to flip it, I would recommend buying the names with a view to possibly hold them for up to 6-10 years in mind. There are over 101,000,000 developed sites in Google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T5GGLL_enAU263AU263&q=site:.tv
If you have good ideas for those domain names - go ahead. That is not good idea to register domain name just to register. Maybe you have some ideas on selling it?
I like the extension personally..but, I think its not for squatters as such..I love it because I know websites on it which are relevant to the extension..
Dot tv domains are ok if you have good hosting. They eat bandwidth if you are serving videos on a popular dot tv website. They are not as labour intensive though, if you have a good member base the members tend to do the work (uploading) for you. I like them and have several.
