So you are asking whether or not it's legal to take other people's content that you have no rights over and then publish it on your website?

    Shoot yourself, right now.

I guess he owns the company that produces South Park. However in that case he could have just asked one of the legions of lawyers he has on his payroll.

He probably wants to know how the other sites survive for so long. So I can see how he questions the legality.

It might be the show's (or whatever it is) official site. So they got permission from the show to create it.
So, if you get permission then yes, it is legal, from my knowledge. As you can imagine, that will be a rather difficult task.

    Good luck. :p

They still possible could have gotten permission. I imagine they're legal because they have an NBC banner on the top of their page. Maybe you could try contacting the owner of the Final Gear site or try finding another South Park site.

I'm sure one of them would take the time to help you out a little bit. You could even try asking to have a link to eachother's site.

finalgear.com says BBC doesn't care that they offer these rips.

It's not your content so DON'T FUCKING USE IT. Why is that so hard to understand???

So you make TV shows as well? Offering downloads for content you don't own without permission from the content owner is illegal.

It is illegal. Some sites survive simply because the owners of the copyright don't have enough of an incentive to try to shut them down. Then again, when videos are posted on YouTube that violate fair use, they are consistently taken down because YouTube has become such a popular website that it is well-worth a company's time to protect their videos from free distribution.
