The sites users in this thread are running are nothing like Megavideo, Youtube, etc..

These site owners are putting up content for TV shows or Hollywood movies then have a link on the page to view them for free.
Whether it is the user or the site owner who put the links there, there is only one purpose of the site.
There is no possible use for the site other than illegal copyright infringement.

No terms or disclaimer will protect you in any way.

Are people still using sidereel to get (decent) traffic? Or are sidereel still really strict on adding new sites?

 

Had a massive spike of traffic from sidereel on Sunday (I haven't hadn't links for weeks) yet the next day the traffic had all but gone.

I think you should put more text and popular videos on the homepage. I could not even tell it was a tv/movies site when I went to the front page. You could monetize the site better and show less videos on the videos page (you have 50 there). It is cool you are using phpmelody I have a license and should use it for a tv site. Are you using a custom theme? If you want more feedback.. just ask!

 

well thnx Mr baker for your feedback & as of more popular videos well to be honest we have not even started properly with adding content as of such as we have just finalized our custom theme.

Also we have more to do, this we know we quite like the amount of videos on home page but may change where the shoutbox goes . Also we still have more banner advertisements to go up but i dont think we will add surveys from cpalead as we want to keep our visitors & not scare them away. (possibly in future & only at weekends)

We would welcome more feedback whether its good or bad as long as its constructive. Our aim now is to get a right side tab for link exchange with other similar sites.

For those of you who prefer to embed videos on their site and not just link to it there is a new monetization option (my sig link). It is an ad that overlays the video for a few seconds as soon as the visitor clicks on the Play button. It pays for CPM views and not for clicks. The CPM rate is anywhere between $0.38 and $0.78 depending on the visitor countries.

It can automatically detect embed videos from: Youtube, Veoh, Myvideo, Sevenload, Vimeo, Yahoo, Google, Break, Dailymotion, Metacafe, Intv, Megavideo, JW Player.

The payout is done via PayPal. German bank account holders can also choose direct transfer to their bank. The ads are currently shown to visitors from those countries: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, England, USA, Canada, Poland, Netherland, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Schweden, Australia, Russia, Japan and China.

The customizing is as easy as inserting a JavaScript code to the footer of your sites. It should work fine with CPAlead and gateways, because it has nothing related to them and works on a completely different principle. I think it just adds an overlay to the video as soon as it detects a MouseOver event over it, which means the page needs to be visible already (the visitor should have already get past the gateway to do that).
