TV-Links wins the case, what does it mean for the linking sites?

    Hello,

I dont know if this event is discussed anywhere else on this forum, but tv linking site TV-links.co.uk won the case against UK FACT anti-piracy group.

    http://torrentfreak.com/tv-links-triumphs-with-landmark-e-commerce-directive-ruling-100212/

So what does it mean for the rest of the sites hosted in UK? Is it ok now to link to servers which host tvseries?

    Thanks

I'm unsure... maybe it does mean it's allowed, will have to wait for other views.

The UK is great for piracy, it seems... the guy who owned oink.cd (music sharing site) was unanimously found not guilty. :)

yeh, it would be interesting to see. I hope there is someone here with more knowledge :). From what i understand, is that this case can be used as a precedent in future, which means while/if laws doesnt change, it is legal to link to sites with content?

It's always wrong or at least a bad idea to get connected/related with piracy related stuff. Just wait and see for a while.

    Hi lockbox,

Thanks for the link, I have been searching for absolute months now to see if their is any possible way (legally) to allow people to click through megavideo etc to watch their fav programs, but I have always feared being caught!

This is fab news for them, but we will have to see what the future holds!
