Okay, yes i am going to ask the crazy question. Which one do you prefer and why. I have a new Panasonic TPC50G15 Plasma and a new Samsung 40 inch LCD ln40b550. Now the samsung just started making a clicking sound and does not turn on sometimes.. i am having a service guy come out under warranty tomorrow before Christmas. My Panny Plasma has been flawless. THe plasma has deeper blacks than my LCD but the LCD is brighter at times with whiter whites. The colors from the plasma look more natural and horizontal motion is smooth as butter on the plasma vs. the LCD actually judders even watching HDTV football games. Now, which technology do you prefer and why? What are your pros and cons of each technology? I believe the new LED LCD will take over in another few years when they do more of the OLED that turns on and off with the image brightness. I don't want to pay the price for one yet.
Well, Out of these three LED LCD is the best one. As its the newest and also advanced and better then previous ones. - Mr.President -
i am sticking my guns to plasma right now considering my budget wont allow a new LED LCD in the same size class. Though, I just found out about the Hz refresh rates... 120hz would be all that you need because even blu-ray puts out 96Hz or only 48Hz.. cable TV is up to 60Hz so a 240Hz would be a waste. It is all marketing with these new ads they have pushing new 240Hz TV's. Although plasmas tend to do better the driver must be able to do 96Hz same goes with any new LCD.
Actually,LCD and LED are two completely different things. i think you should LED if price doesn't matter. Plasma has a VERY high contrast ratio, but uses a lot of power, produces a lot of heat, and is very heavy. Not to mention the price of it, and the technology is a bit dated. LCD is still the standard, and is well worth the price. LED is the newest technology, and has the best overall picture. You have to keep in mind, brand makes a difference too. I have noticed that Samsung and Sony seem to have the best quality picture.
Depends on a whole host of factors. LCD (not LED LCD), in my opinion is the best bang for the buck. 120 Hz and 240 Hz is a marketing gimmick though. Stick with 60 Hz TVs to get the best deals. Plasma has superior picture quality, but is a poor choice if you have any light shining on the screen.
Well I suggest you go for the latest technology available and enjoy it...LED is the best quality I have ever seen and you will enjoy it for sure..
