has anyone made the jump to TV advertising? I looked at spotrunner.com which advertises local TV ad's for as low as $14 ! of course, to get started it costs wayyy more than that, but $1k or so for several TV ads isnt all that bad.. I'm still kinda mulling it over in my head - that's a lot of money (about 1/2 of my monthly site-income) - i'm just wondering if anyone else has tried Spotrunner, or any other TV advertising? (on a side, note, Leo Laporte once talked about one of my sites for about 2 minutes on his Los Angeles radio show, and the results were HUGE.. his audience is perfectly targeted to my site, but his show probably reaches a smaller number of people than a TV ad)
I've been thinking about TV ads recently, for a website I'm starting. But over here, TV advertising is bit more expensive, so I think I'll stick to my previous plan (promo stuff, lighers, pens, hats, shirts, radio ads, etc). At least for now.
If you have the budget I think it could work. It seems to work pretty well for car insurance websites since I see ads for those all the time. The only thing is you have to advertise a lot to make it worth the cost of producing the ad.
Please post more info on the comcast spotlight, I read an article about it and no longer have the info?.
it lets you target community's, city, etc, channels! EG. why would you advertise an electric razor on cartoon network? kids...duh...ok but how about doing it on SPIKE! yes! that is a men network...look around on comcast.com
It all depends on what your selling, What your site is about, What is your product. For many websites out there is no point to tv advertising. But you will need to look at is it worth the investment??? Are you going to profit from this method of advertising?
I co-own a restuarant in my town and have been in contact with some of the local media companies and TV advertising is suprisingly affordable and can be made highly targeted. Production can start as low as a few hundred dollars and cost per spot around $5-15. This is for a coverage area of 200,000 subscribers. You can target by station, day, time, event, etc. to suit your individual product/service/website. If you have the budget it could be worth the effort to test TV advertising.
Wish that was like that where I am from. At least on major TV stations it isn't, will need to check about the cheaper ones.
I think TV ads are too expensive for their efficiently for a website. Try a magazine or newspaper. Better results if you pay for an article and not for just a page advertisement. An article of one paragraph most times it has better results than a full page advert.
