Hey, I am trying to look for some good Photoshop tutorials. Basically I am looking for tutorials that shows you how to learn to make website layouts, Wordpress themes, and vBulletin skins. I need lots of tutorials. I am also looking for tutorials on how to make smilies, logos, signatures, banners etc. Also I am looking for tutorials that show you how to code .PSD files. If anyone knows any good websites that have tutorials, please let me know. I am finding it hard to get some decent tutorials. Thanks, BlueEew.
You proberly have this link already but if not then it is a must see website I would see Good Tutorials
How do u wanna code .psd files? Remember, the best way to learn how to go on with progs like photoshop is to play with them as much as you can! Never trust in tutorials only. ~
Okay thanks for them websites guys, but dose anyone have any direct links to the tutorials I have requested?
Well, first, you actually don't make web layouts in Photoshop, you're just drawing a picture of how you want the site to look. I mean, you can really just draw boxes with the marquee tool, etc. Make sure you can draw out the layout you want on paper. A better way to go about is to make the actual images (like background images, logos, etc) as seperate files. When you actually write your code, you can just stick them in there with regular html and css. If you want to know how to use Photoshop regularly and plan on making many websites, I urge you not to "learn" the slicing tools and using stuff like Wordpress or Dreambeaver to stick little pieces of your images in tables (or even divs), because usually this is not needed and just bloats the page. The best tutorials start with an example, and take you through step by step. http://www.thedesignworld.com/photoshop-tutorials/ has tutorials on various typography, effects, etc written by members. You can usually follow along and build that exact same image. After doing a few variations on logos, for instance, you're ready to go with making your own. For example, on that page, the "Apple" tut shows you gradient work with letters. Another tut will show outlining. Another, glass-effects on letters. After you're really familiar with the PS tools, you can then also use tuts for almost any other raster imaging programme, like GIMP. I use GIMP but learned the most from Photoshop tutorials, because I understood which effects and tools they were using even if PS keeps them in a different place. Most of the layout-tutorial pages out there are bloated ad-monsters. And many of them show how to "slice". Bad practise, though this is just my opinion. I never slice. I make the images good in the first place. Deviant art also has many member-written PS tutorials-- as well as for Gimp, Adobe Illustrator/Inkscape/other vector programmes, Flash... because it's all a bunch of hippy artists : )
Very good post thanks. I am actually rather good at creating layouts onto paper, I just need to simply create the images in Photoshop. I have also planned to create in Photoshop, slice, then code. I am also going to be using tutorials that shows me how to make exisitng templates, so I get the hang of how everything works etc. Thats why I am posting for tutorials.
