    I think instead of selling banner space you can sell links on those space to directory owners

    Good job. Thanks for taking your time to write it up....good advice in there. You could also probably add something that mentions creating daily/weekly backups under the maintaining directory section! But I guess that advice applies to any site and not just directories.
