I believe I've found a great niche that would be interested in buying informational products and tutorials on the topic. I have a few ideas about what business model to follow, but I'd really like it to be a membership site. I've created a a website that will have an introductory video asking for an email address. For the email address I will give them a guide that will help get them started. I'm struggling with how to integrate my products into the guide while still offering something of value, any ideas? Also, does anyone have any experience with what format I should use for the guide? ebook? powerpoint with audio? From there I'm trying to focus where I should go with it. My original plan was to generate an email list and see what kind of response I get. From there I can determine what the customers want to learn or need to learn. Then should I offer the products individually? or start taking charter memberships for a reduced rate, while I'm actively developing more content for the members? I really think I have a good idea but need help from some experienced people to help me determine where to go with it. Any tips, ideas, do's or don'ts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As someone who produces content for many membership site owners, here is my advice: - Use an eBook in PDF as the format for your guide becuase it's very easy to edit if/when needed. - Integrate your products/services by providing useful, helpful content on the particular subject of your products/services and then provide your links as additional resources. (this can be done in sections throughout the eBook... broken up into different topics) - Build your email list by offering the eBook, promote your products/services in the eBook and keep in contact with your list! Invite them to offer you feedback and try to stay a bit interactive... send an email out 1 time per week and make sure all your emails offer useful info, as well as promote 1 (or a group of the same topic) product each time. - I would definately consider offering membership at reduced rates as you produce your content... it never hurts to make money as you grow, it certainly helps you grow at a faster pace which in the end helps you make even more money.
