The layout is a bit too simple. I would try to insert a border between the sidebar and the content. Or anything that may add color to the site.
At 800*600 the google ads are behind the login form.

 

your theme looks good but site is a bit slow and it sucks with ff 2.0

 

This took almost a minute to load up for me. Either you need to get a faster host, or perform better caching.

I like the idea though ... I'm assuming any user can submit any tutorial then vote for it? Kind of like Digg but with technical tutorials? The only problem I see is that the rating on a tutorial is much more than an up or down. Maybe you could also allow someone to rank it from 1-5, each 1/2 counting as a down vote and each 4/5 counting as an up vote? There's lots of tutorials that I might use, but not be terribly thrilled by ...

 

alecs - thanks for that feedback on google ads going behind login form on 800 x 800. I'll look into fixing it. It was however designed for 1024 x 768

Yes, i will look into chnaging my host for this site. I need a faster host. I have also been experiencing slowness though.

Yes, one can say its a digg clone but only for tutorials of all kind. rating is only up currently and we will add the negative vote feature soon in the next update.

Yes... this just started a week back and few tutorials are posted though. I recommend those interested to signup, vote, submit, comment.

I would say typography wise the site look consistent, however, when the browser window is resized the Google ads are merged with the login area, which doesn’t look good.

We have a similar site called www.startupbug.com

Both of them will chnage in the next 1 month again, which will have more functionality and some of the drawbacks mentioned here will be looked into.
I will try to keep the design simplistic as possible... looking at the possibility of a single column layout.

Any suggestions... much appreciated.

site taking much time to load.site looks gud .its bit simple too.
overall site found gud.layout is not perfect but ok.
