Hey all, Just new to these forums & also pretty new to webdeveloping & am wanting to buy a alreay made website, which includes a e-book to resell. Can someone please tell me the advantages &/or disadvantages of buying a turnkey website. It's not the bigest investment but I just need to find out if there is any hidden regulations/laws involved that I should know about.. Any help would be awesome. Cheers in advance.
Turnkey website mean pre-made website where the coders sell them at non exclusive price. Non exclusive mean they can resell it again and again. Therefore, i strongly advise that hire freelancer to complete the job will be the best solution.
The sites sold in DP forums are not turnkey websites normally, didnt they? So if we buy them, we will be the only owner.
I would also try to hire someone or do it myself. Or pay for exclusivity. On the other hand I don't like such sites, but thats my personal choice in the end
turnkey websites can be a great way to get started. A turnkey website is one that you will see again and again, so it will definately not be a unique site. A turnky site is a good place to start if you understand that you will have to re-write most of the content and probably over time re-code a fair portion of the site. That being said, If you do purchase a turnkey site, you can start promoting it and driving traffic right away. You will get a bit of traffic while you work on the site to make it more unique! A turnkey is really only a "fast-start" and usually a turnkey site will sell for around the $30 mark. I have purchased multiple turnkey sites and I still have a couple that I grabbed over 2 years ago. I promoted and re-coded them and got my initial investment back and some! Sure, I have also purchased a couple of turnkey sites that were a flop as well. You really need to research the niche of the turnkey and have a pretty good understanding of how to market it before leaping in. As long as the turnkey will do basically what you want then there is no reason not to go down this path to get started.
