Turnkey website monitoring business...100% Automated

I purchased this site & the script for $65 last fall. Since then I've done a lot of php coding to improve the function and features of the site.

The site accepts paypal payments, and the payments are logged via Paypal IPN, everything resides in a MySQL database, and customer accounts are automatically updated when a subscription is extended, expired, cancelled, etc.

For anyone who makes a living on the web, this site is a valuable tool. Enter URLs you wish to be monitored and downtimereport.net checks that site every 15 minutes. You can select it to check the site itself (HTTP), and also SMTP (mail), FTP, & SSH. If any of these are down, you get an email alert, and if you activate the SMS feature you get a text message too. You get notifed again if the site goes back up. Downtimereport.net logs all outages so the users get reports on total uptime percentage, etc.

There is a full administrative back end as well for you to manage user accounts and URLs too. There are several members who signed up while it was a free site, you can do with them whatever you want. I will be keeping a copy of the script for my own private/personal use.

I've set up a demo account, username is DEMO and password is "12345" for anyone wanting to play around with the site.

The site is hosted at asmallorange.com, and I will include that account in the sale (11 mos left on a 1 year $50 hosting package). There is no revenue as I have not advertised the site at all. I am calling it "turn key" because it will be up to the buyer to market the site and generate income. There's also not much traffic, averaging 16 uniques/day this month so far.

Can you limit how many domains someone can monitor? Or offer different packages (1 domain / 3 Domain)?

Right now there are two packages, 1 domain and 10 domains. These are hard coded into a PHP file, but is fairly easily changed (I will walk the winner through this). It would be more difficult to add a third package, however.

 

Can you clarify what improvements over the original script you coded into the site?

Gobs of improvements, too many to name...but I'll try.

Paypal subscription integration (it was all free when I bought it)....limit number of domains and created the two package types...added admin controls so that when you delete a user you delete all his domains too...added an inception date so you know how long you've been monitoring each domain....added admin controls so you can manually activate/deactivate a subscription...I totally re-skinned the public side of the site too.

It says currently monitoring 53 domains. Out of that how many are paying customers?


The one example shows "google" as "down" but if i click on "downtime report" it says this:
www.google.com has had no downtime since you started to monitor it.

 

As mentioned in the first post, all of the existing "customers" joined when the basic account was free. There are no paying customers as of yet, which is why this is a "turn key" auction.
