turning vBulletin into something bigger & better?

Can someone please suggest some addons for vBulletin to give it more functionality - especially an advanced user profile page for members, possibly expanding the functions of the forum itself, etc?

I'm not to hot on vB Advanced, as it kind of looks too much like an old version of PHPnuke to me.

The best mod at the moment is TIME...

    vBulletin 3.7 First Look!

Most of what you are asking is due to be released in the near future. :D

I think there's lots of modifications available over at vBulletin.org, you can always add custom fields for the users on your adminCP, that could make your forum look more custom overall.

Monday! this sounds like it will be the best upgrade ever. I haven't visited their forums in months.

That monday was two days ago, so be sure to check it out now, as most of it is live.

And like I said, give it time. The changes they have planned match many of the more popular add-ons/mods/hacks so putting them on your forum now only means you have to remove them once they are official.

Official is such a nice word ;)

If you have the license already, then maybe set up shop, get some core members posting content, then push the promotional aspects of your site once it goes full version 3.7. That way, when you go live it'll already have some content & some members...as even with the nifty additions, it's still the userbase that makes any community worth joining.
