turning hitcount into sales - clearance stuff

    i'm being charged with clearing some inventory from the clearance section. i just set up a simple site with product images and description and the ability to purchase online. the site doesn't deal with the end user, but to our existing dealers who've been with us for years. so presentation and flashiness wasn't a concern of mine. they just want cheap stuff.

    since the site's inception, i did an eblast (email advert with pictures) saying the new clearance section is open and there's been alot of hits, but it's not generating into sales. also, dealers are still calling in to order instead of using the online cart system.

    i'm prepared to send out bi-monthly eblasts focusing on a product that i know is the pick of the litter from clearance section...this will entice them to go look and hopefully shop around. what more can i do to push this? man, selling clearance is hard!
