Turning Drupal 6.8 into a Link List?

Ok this will probably go un-answered, but I'm gonna take a shot anyways. I recently installed Drupal 6.8 @ http://mywikiinfo.com so I could turn it into a Link List. I'm pretty good at Drupal and understand how it all works, but I'm wondering if maybe there is a custom module that I could use? If not, has anyone else done this? What's the best way to tackle it? I was thinking of using customized blocks to do this. I can easily think of how to get the links to display and I can have people create their own accounts to submit their links for approval. Unless someone has a better idea how to go about this, please let me know.

Before anyone responds, yes I know there are free Link List scripts out there but my concern is security and Drupal is very secure when kept up on. So, that's what I'm going to stick with. Plus upgrading new and other specific features to the link list will be a breeze in the future. Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll get a few useful replies from some of you fellow DP members :)

    Regards,

Unfortunately, I don't think this reply will be that helpful in your need to turn Drupal into a link directory. But, I have to say that in my opinion using Drupal for that is a massive overkill.

Sure, its true the free and commercial dir scripts are not as technically advanced as Drupal. They do boast a large user base though and they are under some serious scrutiny regarding security. I'd do some searches on security issues in those scripts and I think you'll see they get patched up pretty quick.

    Just my 2 cents.
