Hello all, I'd like to ask if anyone could assist me in learning how to turn cat's fur white ... while maintaining the dark areas, such as the nose, eyes, etc. I do know Photoshop fairly well ... but still learning LOADS of stuff I never knew about, so I'm sure there's some areas that I've not even touched, that would help me achieve this effect. I'm willing to learn. And while I have you in here ... what software add on or separate program, is the best for 'knocking out' backgrounds ... and which is best for streamlining (photo to drawing)? Thanks ever so much! Ka.elliot
That's kind of a tricky problem, but here is what I would do: 1). Duplicate the area you want to change to white (make sure its on a new layer so that you don't mess up your original). Masking hairy areas can be a pain in the butt, but just do the best you can. 2). Convert that new layer to grayscale 3). Go to "Image > Adjustments > Levels" and play with increasing the white and midtone levels. Increase the black levels to bring back some of the shadow areas if they get blown out by your other adjustments. It's not going to be perfect, but that's how I would go about it.
