I run a site on a certain niche topic, and am lately finding that more and more traffic is coming from one keyword phrase in particular. This traffic comes directly from Google and other search engines onto a specific page I have devoted to that keyword phrase. I have now decided to create a whole site dedicated towards that sub-niche. The advice I'm looking for is the following: should I do a permanent redirect from that page to the new domain / website I have set up for the sub-niche, or should I just place an outbound link on that page that will take interested users (and particularly get Google to follow on) to the new site? The goal is obviously to drive targeted traffic to the new site with that sub-niche, and to get Google to rank the new site for that keyword phrase. Hope that doesn't sound too complicated. Thanks
I might consider keeping the page you have and also creating the new page. Consider of goal of having the new site rank#1 and the old page rank#2. That way whichever one they click on, they find you.
