This way, you won't create a sig, make a reference to it in your first post and then realise it's not there when you go back to see who has replied to that post.

Not that I've done it  but take it into consideration please :p

I believe if you try to make a signature before you have the ten posts and have been a member a week you are automatically redirected to the FAQ/Rules.

Ah nevermind. It allowed me to make a signature but then I tried it now and got re-directed.

Still, I think the option should be turned off for new members.

It is turned off for new members. Your username/account has never had a signature on it.

What I mean was, you know in the UserCP there's a list of options down the left? One of them is Signature option.

I'm trying to say, why not turn it off until the requirements are met for each user? The totalwebtalk Forums had this kind of thing.

Because then there are a bunch of threads asking where the signature link is. When you click on it now, it redirects to the section of the FAQ/Rules that explains you can't have a signature yet.

You were never able to enter a sig in the first place so why would you reference something that never existed in your first post? (Well, not you but the person you are talking about)

Well, I was able to create a sig and saw it displayed in my UserCP. That's why I'm saying turn it off. If it was just a glitch or something then leave it the way it is, sorry for making a fuss :p The person I was talking about was me by the way ;)

Are you posting just to get a signature? Many people do which creates nothing but a mess for the entire community and more work for the mods. This is what the FAQ section should read:

    Should be quality posts.
    I agree with that.
Seen too many posts in all the forums here that are no more than:
I agree that the price is too high.
Where can I find software that will ..... (same question asked a dozen times)

    You get the idea.

But then, I see people whine, cry, moan and bitch because one day, they noticed their post count went down to zip, or close to zip.
So the mods do help out quite a bit by deleting useless posts.

If you click the link, it's just a link to the signature requirements, not a signature setup (it's always been that way).

I promise you weren't able to here. If you were able to create one (even if you couldn't use it), I would be able to see it on my end, and your account has never had a signature on it.

1 - I'm not posting to get a signature. I'm posting because I want to find out information which can help me better my website.

2 - This topic was in relation to me having a signature, referring to it and then having it disappear.

3 - If your layout is similar to another vBulletin forum then I might've gotten them mixed up but I wouldn't refer to my signature if I didn't have one.

Could someone lock this please? It's starting to go downhill and I would rather have it locked than descend into a flaming contest.
