I am not sure where to place this topic, if a mod see this please move it to the correct forum. I have big problems with turkish top site spammers from 5sohbet.net making my VPS go down. I dont know what sohbet means, but I see top lists all over are spammed, using that word. They run some sort of code that makes their visitors request something form my top list, I suppose it is my top list banner. I can ban 5sohbet.net, but I cannot ban all the IPs that does request for the file. How can I solve this problem. Please help, this is a serious problem for me. Thanks, login.
Its no use to block 5sohbet.net, because it is their visitors that request the file and I cannot block all 5sohbet.net visitors.
Not blocking the domain, blocking the referral from the domain. It's a different method, trust me I run the lists myself and know the problem you are speaking of. A referral from 'badomain.com' comes in with ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx etc it is blocked as the referral is from the bad domain.

sohbet are well known for this, they have hundreds of sites all displaying your banner. I always wondered if they did this kind of thing as a deliberate ddos, or if that was an unfortunate side effect....?
A deliberate ddos would not gain them as they want hits on servers that are up so it must be a side affect.
